From journalism to weddings, album art and family photography, the key to a successful portrait has a lot of moving parts. We will focus on posing, composition, direction and how to execute an assignment with strong imagery that communicates your goal and the goal of your client. This class is designed for students with a professional goal or those looking to sharpen their use of light with composition. Knowledge of manual camera settings is required for this workshop.

This is a two-hour, one-on-one class taught at my home in Santa Fe, Tennessee. We will schedule a date and time once you’ve booked.
This workshop is for photographers who have mastered their manual settings and are ready to focus on composition and make the most of using natural light- whether on vacation or at home. This course is designed to show students how to create dynamic or well-balanced images with day light.
Below are images all taken while using natural light. I will walk through photos like these to talk about how I arrived at the final photo and we will be working with models and landscape to practice working in different lighting situations.
